SPBA receives certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration
The first and only Brazilian manufacturer of flight simulators to have a training device certified by FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) is based in Tecnosinos. The American qualification was awarded to SPBA Simulators in March and represents one more step in the company’s internationalization process.
Adriano Oliveira, commercial director at SPBA, says that the certificate was given to the Robinson XR22/44 helicopter model. The equipment is made of replicas based on the original cabin of the aircraft. Full-scale controls are used, and the display has the same design and functions as the original, making it the most realistic Robinson simulator in the Americas. “The certificate recognizes the simulator as a system for training civilian pilots, following all the criteria required by FAA”, Oliveira explains.
SPBA has been based in Tecnosinos since its foundation in 2008. In 2012, while incubated at Unitec, it won the National Award for Innovative Entrepreneurship in the category Best Incubated Company. Today, it leads the market of AATD (Advanced Aviation Training Device) flight simulators, with more than 60 models installed in the main aeronautical training institutions.
